Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May

And nearly blew my roof away.

The last few days have seen quite strong winds. My house, which is more than 20 years old and uninhabited for the first thirteen years, was subjected to some heavy punishment.

One of our aerials collapsed. The good thing is we watch Astro these days.

The south side of the house. West side damage is visible.

Some pieces of asbestos from the roof were blown to the lawn.

The largest piece was about 2 x 2 feet.

Nasty, rusty nails - fortunately, the wind blew them towards the lawn and not the neighbour's house.

The west side of the house was affected the most.

Years of being uninhabited and heavy rain damaged the roof and other materials inside, which is a cause for alarm.

Whenever I'm fixing the roof or removing debris from it, I wear my helmet. Safety precautions - a piece of asbestos coming into contact with my head is a nasty thing.

RepairingReplacing the roof will cost a fortune :( Not to mention that we need to find a temporary accomodation for several months.
